In my purse...

Let's talk about the purse it's self or rather all of my purses first.
I am a purse junkie. No closets just for shoes for me, no I would rather have a purse closet. I LOVE PURSES! Cheap, expensive, trendy, hippie, traditional, tiny, large, in between, two straps, one strap, over the shoulder, cross body, back pack style; you name it I've got it! I like to rotate my purses every couple of weeks. I'll pay full price if I like it enough but I love finding bargins!
As for what's in my purse? Well pretty basic; wallet, check book, couple of chapsticks, pen ( or two or three) safety pin, meds, girly stuff, cell phone, sunglasses, regular glasses. That's about it!

Most proud moment

Well, I have a couple but I'd have to say my proudest moment is the day my babies were born. Oct 8, 2007 was a beautiful day and unseasonably warm. We had a planned C-Section that day but when we arrived all the blizzard babies were being born and we got stuck standing around for a couple of hours waiting for a room. What was to be a 9 am appt ended up as nearly 11. The previous December there had been a couple of blizzards that shut Denver down and well there were A LOT of babies born 9 months later. My girls were not blizzard babies but they were born 3 weeks and 2 days early bringing them into the world at the same time as all the blizzard babies. Anyhoo, my babies came into the world crying  although honestly I was so hopped up on all the drugs they gave me that I barely remember that. But I do remember my first "coherent" moment which is when I asked when I could nurse and I instantly had FOUR nurses "helping" me nurse two babies in the recovery room. LOL! It was actually kind of funny. I didn't really think it was funny at the time but in retrospect it's pretty funny. Anyhoo, I remember looking down and thinking, "wow, I did that" Of course I did that with my hubby but you get the idea. It was amazing to me that they came from me. :)

My favorite quote

Part of the price of getting to where you are going is leaving where you are.

That has been "my quote" for as long as I can remember. Once upon a time there was something called potshots  in the local comic section in the Sunday paper. I cut that quote out about 12 years ago, I still have that little scrap of paper. It's important for me to remember that sometimes moving on is hard to do but it's important.

I recently ready a quote that goest like this:

"Missing someone isn't about how long it's been since you've seen them. It's about the very moment when you're doing something and wishing they were right there with you."

This made me cry becuase I  know exactly how this feels. I can't count the number of times that I've had this feeling becuase I wanted my mother to hear about something that had happened with my girls but when I reach for the phone I remember that she isn't on the other end of the line.

I've remarked to a friend a few times that my mom is somewhere looking down laughing beucase of something the girls did.

My first celebrity crush

This boy was my high school crush...

Yep, totally and completely hot! I had my room plastered in his pictures....And now, well his a pretty hot man. :)

If I won the lottery....

Well, this may not be a post most would write becuase my wishes are pretty simple....
1. I'd pay off all of my bills
2. I'd buy my hubby the newer car he wants (notice I said newer, not brand new)
3. I'd get braces and a tummy tuck (come on, got to have a little fun!)
4. I'd quit my job and go to school to get my masters in library science so I could fullfill a dream I have.
5. I'd pay off my house
6. I'd go to Paris becuase I've wanted to go there since I was a middle school kid
7. I'd set up a trust fund for my daughters to make sure all of their needs were covered (college, braces, etc)

I'd save the rest becuase though I would be working once I finished school I'd want plenty of cushion for rainy days.

Piercings and Tattoos

So this will be a short post because I have my ears pierced once and that's it. I've had a second hole and my cartilage pierced and once upon a time (umm think pre-baby) I had my belly button pierced. I loved it. Then I spontaneously conceived twins and a friend of twins freaked out and made me take it out when I was like 22 weeks. Now my stomach is very unpretty and I have no belly button piercing.
As for tats I was going to get one right after I moved out but for whatever reason I ended up not doing it...turns out that was a good thing because my hubby HATES tattoos...

Introduction

I've had a couple of blogs in the past but thought I'd give it another try and I'm using  the 31 day blog challenge to get me started on this blog.

My name is April and I'm a mother of identical spontaneous twin girls. I've been married to my favorite person in the whole world for 7 years. We have two cats; Cassie and Leo. Both were named after star constellations. Cassie is a "crotchety old lady" and Leo is a young tiny thing, when he gets scared, his tale actually shakes (pretty funny to see!) and live in a small town in northern Colorado. My hubby is a native but I'm from Ohio, although I've been here long enough to call myself a native, I think :) Besides being a wife and mother I'm a full time working professional and have been with a major manufacturing company in the accounting department for over 5 years now. In August my babies will start kindergarten the thought of which makes me weepy. In my spare time (hah!) I am an avid reader. If I can get my hands on it I will read it! I also really enjoy listening to audiobooks as well, in fact my ipod is mostly audiobooks instead of the usual music.
Well I think that's it for now....
